Back on Track

Hi there volleyball fans. It has been a while since my last post, but I promise to be more diligent now that we are into our regular conference routine. I have to say it has been kind of a bumpy start to our season for our girls. We scheduled tough in hopes to prepare a young team for a strong conference run. Our level of play has steadily improved since the start of preseason and despite our record, I think that we are in a good place right now. Sitting at 1-1 in the conference, we are looking forward to making a strong run to finish out the LSC schedule.

Despite our loss to ACU on Tuesday night, the girls returned to the gym on Wednesday ready to improve. Well their hard work and diligence paid off in a resounding 3-0 victory over previously undefeated (9-0) Tarleton State. With a week to prepare for our roadtrip to TAMU-Commerce and Texas Womans next week, I think we are in a great position to improve our standing in the LSC.

Congrats go out to ASU sophomores Alexa Williams and Alex Woolsey for being named the LSC defensive player and setter of the week for their efforts during our first weekend of play in Florida. Woolsey and sophomore middle blocker Chelsea Gibson were selected to the All-Tourney team at the Florida Southern Classic while Woolsey made the All-Tourney team at our own ASU/Angelo Retina Invitational.

Thats all for now. More to come soon....in the meantime, keep takin' it to Spike Town!!
